i have just bought a second hand sera biotop (same as boyu/orca 550)
so any help or advice would be great as this is my first time with marine tanks

I'm not a salty myself, so I'm not the best person to comment, but is there anything specific you need help or advice with?
 
Perhaps if you describe what you intend to stock that might give the salty guys a chance to give better advice.
