New Livebearers for My 10 Gallon!

My lfs was having a sale on Livebearers today (half off!!!! ) so I decided to pick up a a couple to complete my Livebearer tank...and I only went in there to pick up a flexible cleaning brush for my undergravel filters!

I got two new male swords, a male platy, and two female platies. I also decided to move my existing platy, Comet, out of my 25 gallon so she could be with others of her kind. I'm hoping I will get some platy/swordtail fry.

And one more thing: I HATE PHOTOGRAPHING LIVEBEARERS!!!! They just don't stop moving! So if these pictures all suck, I apologize.

Oh yeah, if anyone can tell me what 'colors' these guys are PLEASE let me know. I only know the names of about three colors of Livebearers and the rest I have to guess on...


First off, a picture of the tank itself. It looks SOOO much better with more than three fish in it. It's so bright and colorful now.

Now for some group shots. These ones are sooo much better than the individual ones, lol!

My female betta, Polaris, decided she wanted in on the picture taking too, and weasled her way into the center of the new group! Can you see, Mr. Sprinkles the plec hiding out in the corner?...he wanted in on the picture too!

And some individual shots. First off, is my new beautiful swordtail...I think he's a Neon colored, but if someone could let me know for sure, I'd appreciate it.

And my two new female platies. They tend to stick together, so I decided to combine their pictures. They are sooo cute! I belive the one is a Blue Coral Mickey Mouse...but the other?...no clue.

WOW, those are very lovely livebearers. Usually I don't really like the livebearers but those colors are outstanding!!

Thanks silver! I really like their colors too...it's always so hard to decide which ones I want at my lfs because they are all so darn pretty and bright.

And really, swordtails and platies are the only livebearers I like. I don't care much for mollys or guppies...don't really know why...

your b**** of the tank is a female betta! if i were you i would remove her know.!

There's really no need to remove her from the tank. She acts big and tough, but no harm is done to anyone. She just likes to let everyone know that she's the boss, and that that ain't changing.
