hi chaps and chapettes!

last wk i bought THE MOST AMAZING bit of L.R. -- absolutly covered in dusters, different alge ect also has a carribean worm snail- funky little chap that 'fishes' all day........... HOWEVER...................

there is a tiny hole in this lr which has about 25-30 red, thin, string filaments comming out of it, they seem to flow with the current of the pumps but if you watch closely they attach themselves- purposfully! to surrounding rock and dead coral.

unfortunatly i cant get a pic of them as they just come out as a red-ish blur

im thinking they are sweeper tenticles from some sort of coral - but unsure??!

wondering if you guys could shed some light on it for me

honestly, they are about 2inch long and about as wide as this ( .......................... )

cheers for any help guys.

Possibly some bristle worm swarming on some dead animal life? It's a long shot I know, but worth a poke about on google image search....

I wouldn't have though it was sweeper/feeding tenticles from a coral though :/

All the best

Spaghetti worm?

Is there a red morph of Spaghetti worm? I have only ever seen the creamy yellow ones.
But 25-30 stringy tentacles bought Spaghetti worms to my mind...

Regards

There is a red version indeed, at least one anyway. I've had a small very bright red species of them in my tanks since I first got into saltwater. The are quite small though; I'm not sure if larger red species exist.
