New Lights

I am in the process of turning my 30gal tank into a planted tank....Step 1 was good lighting.....I had 25watts....I NOW have 96 watts....

So I have gone from 0.83 to 3.2wpg....thats like, 4 times the amount of light.....

You can see it......

Before (0.83 wpg)....

I could get used to having a brighter tank without plants.....imagine the algae tho

Oh.....did I mention the first pic has flash in it (even though I tried to block it)...the second pic has no flash....WHATSOEVER!!!!!

Wow, that is a big difference.

How did u get urs improved so much? Im thinking of upgrading my lighting too.

Basically I took away the reflector and tube for the 25 watt light (came stock standard with the tank)....got 2 new power compact lighting fixtures....each holds 2 24watt tubes....there ya have it!!! Quadrupled my lighting at a cost of $300

Hopefully my plants will grow.....LOL.....I don't even have live plants yet They will come this weekend

Hygrophila difformis

Plus others depending on what the LFSs here have....

Awesome! I love the car...I need to find some motorcycles for my tanks. I'm trying to fit one more light under my 75 gals hood. It has 66 watts now and I'm shooting for 99 watts. I found some 33 watt strip lights at Home Depot for $15.00 a piece.

I think they are based in Perth....they ship all over the country....

They also guarantee their plants....apparently

Looks much better, but at 3.2 wpg you will need to add co2 and fert if you dont want algae.
