I got my new lights yesterday - upgraded from standard fluourescent lighting for a 10g aquarium to 110 total watt (55 daylight/55 actinic). They were on for a few hours last night, maybe 3 or 4. Today they've been on for almost 8 hrs so far and now I've got little air bubbles *everywhere*. They're rising up out of the sand and coming out of the LR. I have no idea what's causing it but the lights are the only new thing to the tank. I double checked the temperature and it's not risen at all.

Any ideas what's going on here?

Algae. The extra light is being used up by the algae thats there. It will settle down eventually once the other types of algaes like macro algae and Coraline star to compete also. If this is not working then perhaps cutting dow the lights for a while to allow the tank to adjust to the new brightness

Thanks :) I figured there was a reasonable explanation for it!! I'll keep an eye on it and cut back on the lights if I need to.
