The light on my Trogon 350 was very poor....so i went for the arcadia T5 unit that is suppose to fit the tank......rubbish! Well the lights were great but the fit was poor.......so i have had made a new lid for it......some pics:

It blends perfectly with the tank and looks like it was made for it (which it was but you know what i mean!)

Its a very simple design with a 20mm lip all round to give 20mm of extra space for light soloutions underneath. The cross across at the back corner is for my in/out pipes. (it needs a wipe...bit dusty from the workshop!)

Feed hole is well made and sits flush when in place...just needs a little black knob (so many gags so little time) which i will fit this weekend.

Current lights are 2 X 15w at the back and 2 x 39w T5 at the front........2x 55w T5 compacts going in the gaps at the weekend - will just mount them to perspects that will straddle the tank top (as the current lights "holders" do)

Wires are for the moon lights...need to extend them as the switch is now going under the tank next to the transformer that runs them.

Only think left to do is fit to donut shapes to the tank top and two circles to the lid....hard to explain but these will "fit" together so when the lid is inplace it wont move around.

i got it done by a local plastics man (real man...he wasnt plastic) but i made the carboard version to show him what i wanted so its sort of DIY!

he can now make them cheaper than mine was so i can "supply" them......however it would still cost over £150 per unit so i dont see much demand beyond the "more ££££ than sense" lot!

all I have to say is .... WOW :D

thats great, if you got more pics we all love to see them

im 6ft6 so its easy for me to reach in it........if anything i wish it was bigger! reef tank is next and i want 500 litres at least!
