New - L27 Baby!

Well when i say baby..... hes about 2" ish but he's great!

Anyone else on here keep these beautiful fish? Only thing i have noticed so far is that he is very very shy even at night. He wouldnt use any of the caves i set out for him, opting to "live" behind a internal filter thats used to help surface moevement! So far he will only eat my wood and some algea wafers, wont touch any cucumber that i offer him!

a wood muncher!! will look ace as he gets bigger, they;re strange shaped heads look great as they get bigger, he;ll also get tamer and will take potato, sweet potato courgette etc in future

Yeah he's lovely! Just nervous about not seeing him much, he stays behind the filter in the day and i dont see him much at night! I suppose he will get more adventurous as he gets used to his new surroundings!

It's L191 btw. He should become bolder with age/size and as he settles in. His diet should consist of wood, vegetables and vegetable based wafer/pellets, and little animal protein.

Are you sure its a 191? The stripes on its body are continuous with no breaks?

Yes I'm sure. Don't rely on common names.

Look at these for reference.

L191 and L027, the most obvious difference is the colour.

Thanks for the links ^^ Nice to know exactly what im lookinbg after. I see that they enjoy a varied "green" diet including carrots and potato. This is slightly new to me, im used to cucumber and courgette, even peas on occasion! Is it the same drill? Blanch then sink in the tank on a cucmber screw or anything safe to weigh it down? Remove after an hour or so?
