New Juwel Rio 180 Today...

Hey guys,
Yesterday i bought a Juwel Rio 180 off ebay:

Collected it and set it all up and its the Business but have hit a problem. The light unit once its plugged in flickers once and then nothing happens this happens everytime you turn the light on and off, i have contacted the seller and he doesnt know why it is doing it either...
Anyone got any ideas, my dad is a spark but is away for 2 weeks so
(also makes a crackling noise when switch is turned on)

HI im getting a rio 300 tomorrow what do you think of the rio?
i would probably change the light tube (and maybe starter)
What sort of 'crackling' noise is it?

Hey Lloyd,
Well compared to my 65 litre its a Monster with a built in 3d background. But it was working today at the sellers house and it is a switch built onto the wire and makes a small crackling noise. The seller said his other Rio makes that noise but works.
I dont know...

Hi it sounds like the switch has broken (should be quite easy to change), I'll have a look at mine when i get it and see if its posable to be fixed. Im sure your dad will be able to fix it

Got a Bristle nose with it though so its cool lol, and you must have a mansion to house that rio 300 haha mines big enough and is very heavy...

No its quite a small house... i still havent told my dad ive bought it but he's away until friday still haven't actually seen a rio 300 but they had a rio 400 at my LFS and its huge.
cool i would like a bristle nose but nowhere near me sells them
what else you planning on putting in with him?

Ermm debating whether to put my 12 neons in the 180 with him and maybe some Bolivian Rams or Cichilds.
Or might keep the Neons in the 65 litre and buy some cardinal tetra's.
All i can say is that the seller said just dont touch a Plec because there spiky lol i didnt know that will try not to touch it lol.
