Fish Crazy
I currently have a small 25 litre superfish aqua 40 tank, it has 2x11w (i think they are PL lights?), one blue one white and I love the bright, clean light it throws out, lights the whole tank.......my new Juwel is not so bright.......is there a way I canmake my new juwel look like this?
Been flicking through some old threads and it appears the juwel lights don't seem to get much respect, seeing that tey are not even designed for aquarium use (according to one thread), whereas arcadia seem better.
Would you recommend I change the light tube for an arcadia one? I am going to buy a juwel reflector anyway, the guy in the shop said they didn't make a difference, but from reading here, they do.
My rekord 600 only has a 15w daylight by juwel.......what tube should I change it for? Arcadia do quite a few. I am using it as a freshwater tank. But like brightly lit tanks, should I go for the freshwater tube (I presume this will bring our greens and the fish colours), or the tropical one (though not keen on the sound of the pink hues).....would the marine white one be better as that will be very bright, or will it wash out a freshwater tank?
I intend to try a few plants, as Im new to this. Mostly low light ones like java moss/fern, moss balls etc, as I know they are easy. But I may wish to try some other plants too and would like the best light suited for both my tank and the plants/fish.
This whole fish malarky is so expensive lol I just keep adding more and more bits on blink.gif
