Right i know that there must be loads of new strains of guppies all the time, but i would like people to read this description of one i have founded, and verify that it is unique. my local "fish expert" Herbert says it might be.

The tail is the stranges bit so i'll start there. Spade tail membrane, but a violent orange lyre colouring, leaving the center "V" of the tail clear. The orange has a black bordering, and in the older males thye orange has branched, creating a feathered effect.
The body has a black smudge from the pectoral fins up to behind the dorsal, and there is a faint green metallic sheen on the lateral lines.

Is this a new strain?

Please answer, cos this is really bugging me.

P.S. i know the pics r crap, but u try taking pics of sexually obsessed guppies at feeding time, especially with a Flying fox and a Kribensis trying to get in on the act!

These look like Guppy/Endler crosses. They're quite common. Pure Endlers are more rare, but they mate with Guppies and the colors and patterns can still remain in the crosses.

not great pics but the one on the left looks more like an endler and the one of the right looks like a guppy, if you could supply us with better quality pics we could have a good look :good:

I don't believe they are new. My sister has been breeding guppies and she has one that looks like the picture on the right. However the picture on the left looks like and Endlers Livebearer.

the black line at a 45degree angel would sugest it's a black bar endler or guppy x endler
