New Growth

ello all

iv got new growth in my tank which is to be expected but these little things are poping up all over can any one tel me what thay are? its on the right of the pic when u look at the coral theres another 1 the same size and 4/5 smaller ones starting.. like a small tree..lol.. and theres some straggly bits as well any idears?

Not good, they spread quickly and can sting your corals. Peppermint shrimp will eat them or you can get stuff called joes juice which you carefully put into their mouths to kill them. Don't try to mash them up to kill them though or you will make them spread more.

Yeah, get them soon or you'll get a plague of them.

Yup, the "old standby" methods are kalkwasser paste or joes juice. Peppermint shrimps also work well, but of course you must have compatible livestock that won't eat the peppermints. US aquarists can try Berghia Nudibranchs, but those are few and far between in the UK i'm told.

My new personal reccomendation (has worked every time for me) is to scare the little buggers back into their hole (usually through poking them with a stick), and then to superglue their hole shut

iv got green 3chromis and 2yellow/blue damsels will the shrimp be ok with these??

the other thing is on the pic can u tel me what the yellow stuff is at the bottom of the coral? its like yellow string but thickish is this coral growth?

Ski you forgot to mention blow torching them . LOL, that one always makes me smile . Might not be possible in this case if there are corals right next to it.

Lol, I did forget that. come to think of it, I have a couple babies on one of my high-up rocks that I could totally torch tonight
