new gourami is sick

got a beautiful gold gourami yesterday. i just noticed one of its feeler/barbel things is split in two and it has a sick-looking red colour on its scales near where the damaged feeler/barbel thing joins its body

does anyone know what could be the problem and how can i fix it?

could have been damaged in shipment of when it was netted out of the tank at the LFS or could be from a fight. Watch the fish and possibly treat with a general tonic like melafix. HTH
