I have seen this filter at a pet store last week and again on this website today.

anybody saw these?
they are rated over 600gph
a 6 litre basket for media

they have an automatic water change feature and it comes with lots of sponges for filtration. the price is not too expensive either considering the power output.

i know fluval don't make the best canisters, but this one looks kinda good. i'm not looking into buying it, but it did get me curious as it seems to be a new line of fluvals

Hagen have designed the Fluval FX5 specifically for large tanks
It was 3 years in development.
All in all this does look very promising, When I told CFC about it even he
was impressed (and that truely is saying something)

Hagen have also re-designed the "04" range, re-packaged them and they are now "05"

awesome
i'm glad hagen managed to pull this one!

any idea when the 05 series will be available?

I have already seen them in a few shops.
those that have the "05" have 25-30% off the "04"'s
as they want to clear the old stock.

Great

I hope they'll start selling them around here
i'l looking for a canister for the 50 gallon

Hi all,

These are HUGE filters! I mean too big for most of us to consider. A monster filter for monster tanks, I have seen one being used on an 1800 litre tank, and the thing does a great job.

Big money, big filter.

sub.

that canister filter will be WAY too big for your 50 gallon tank, they are about $400 where ive seen them, i know a guy who has a huge red belly piranha tank and he just bought one and he said the thing is a monster and way better than any wet/dry or any filter on the market today.
i know fluval don't make the best canisters
what? fluvals are awesome

They certainly sound impressive and at around £160 are cheap enough to have a try with, i can certainly see one or two of these being used in my new fish room when the new tanks start to go in.

The fluval #04 models were pure crap (in my opinion) but the FX5 looks like it could do the business.
