Three days ago I bought 3 platies and 2 swordie and they are currently in a quarantine tank. I've noticed that some of them are rubbing their gill area against the ornaments in the tank. Nitrites and ammonia are both 0, so I don't think it's the water. There are no other symptoms. The fish are active and breathing normally. I've had problems with livebearers and parasites before so I'm a little concerned. Should I treat the tank with an anti-parasite med?

I would check your Nitrate level. Platy's have this tendency to create a lot of waste and sometimes it is very hard to get that down that can be the problem. I would keep watching them and let us know if there are any new signs.

Are the gills pale with excess mucas on them.
A good sign of flukes it the fish spitting food out of there mouths as well.
