soooo, i have a new tank and my old tanks high in amonia and it wont go down so im putting my fish in the new tank, 10 galls, i have 4 fish that are going in there, i have 2 other little baby irredecent sharks, but there not going in there. the ones that are are 2 plattys, one 2 inches and 1 one, are 2 guppys, one is 1.5 inces and one is.5 inches. thats 5 inches of fish. what else would you say coulod go in w/them. nomore live bearers though, lol.

may i ask why u brought a new tank when ur 'old' tank has ammonia problems?
water changes and filter maintenance would have sorted ur high ammonia problem.

i wouldnt put anymore fish in ur 'new' tank untill its cycled... hopefully if u do enough water changes u wont lose the fish u have in it..

it is cycled, and y is 4 fish 2 much in 10 gallons? the old tank was 1/2 the size and double the prise as well, and it leaked

one inch per gallon of fish or whatever, 5 inches of fish, 5 inches left, huuuu, yeah, not to much if i must say, sorry, ppl. on hear have so many more fish then what i have in their tanks.

the 1 inch per gallon rule only applies to a fully cycled established tank. you need to wait for the bacteria bed to build up to control the ammonia. If your old tank had ammonia issues then it was NOT cycled and you won't really be curing any problems.

it is cycled, like i said in a previous post, there is no ammonia problems w/this tank, the other one had ammo lock in it i dont think it ever came out.

ok so you've already put it through a ammonia and nitrite spike. In that case then the 1 inch per gallon is fine.
