Just got these four a week ago...they are waiting in a 6g QT...in one-two more weeks will go into 20g destination tank with Blue-eyed Forktails. I hate to have them in a 6g but I am watching them like.a hawk and they have plenty of private space. Gentle WC 3 x this past week. They acknowledge and eat pellets, daphnia and bloodworms. They recognize me---so flattered.
They are peaceful with one another, random fin display, but no aggression. They can't wait; neither can I !!! ☆☆☆♡☆☆☆ !!!

They are cool and look like they would be neat to spawn as well. I have never seen them, keep us posted how they get on. It seems like they behave sort of like cichlids, could be a neat alternative to some of the dwarf cichlids.

Thanks,
I've been watching them for 3 weeks at my LFS. They have stayed plump and coloured up while they were there so I got 4 a week ago. They are all males but don't behave aggressively toward one another. Thet will have plenty of space to set up their own territories when I move them into the 20g in about a week. They are very sweet and I have been thinking of them for about a year since I first saw them at my LFS. This is the the 3rd or 4th batch they have had in since then and they all looked good, but I just now have the space. Can't wait to move them over and see how they do with the Rainbow family...(my Pseudomugil furcatus).

Is this one of those species that the LFS only sell males. Like dwarf Gourami's and killifish

No, there were females...I just waited too long..I got three the first time because I wasn't sure if they were chill and then a couple days later I called and they said they were all gone...then I called back to double-check and there was one left. Total 4.
But one of the girls that works there does breed them, or has and said they were super easy and super peaceful.. I guess she scaled off on her breeding, but anyway she knows someone, so I can put the word out for a few females, as long as these guys work out in the 20 I may try to get fry, online says they are fairly easy to breed... ♡

I once had these fish spawn in the quarantine tank. If you do manage to get females, they like to spawn in the tightest of spaces. I was always amazed at how two fish managed to fit in the places they used.
It's the father that looks after the eggs not the mother, but the other fish in the tank always ate the eggs with mine.
