I upgraded my fluval 2+ to a fluval 3+ today (because a 2+ wasn't really good enough for my tank and the 3+ was on offer).

I'm just pondering what I should do with the old 2+, there's nothing wrong with it - it just wasn't adequate for my tank.

I voted to get another tank, but make sure that the new filter will do a good job first...you may need both!!!

I picked other cause it doesnt matter what you do with it but definitely keep it. If you dont want to run the 2 together and dont have another tank right now then just take it out of service for now but dont get rid of it because one night after all the stores close... :shifty:

I said try to get another smaller tank. The best way I start my new tank is by using the filter and/or filter media from an old tank. No need to cycle!

Other than getting another tank, I'd have it going at the same time anyways. Have them both running until you decide what to do. Both will be ok together, I have a fluval 4 in a 80 litre tank and it doesn't look quite like a washing machine!!

Just been looking up the filter as I have only a 1, a 4 and a 4+. Now then, your 2+ will supposidley do up to 90 litres and your 3+ 130 litres.

So, you could have up to a 15UK / 70 litres, depending on what fish you have in it.

Smells like a new tank to me
