I posted earlier and said that my filter had malfunctioned. Dont know if it was the motor or not yet as Im still troubleshooting it. i bought a new one and put it in, however with trying to fix the broken one I washed the filter media with tap water( I was stressin pretty bad, thinking the water wasnt making it through it) So my question is, is that new filter going to be ok even though its bacteria is not established?can I still save some of the bacteria from it or will the new filter eventually get "worked in" it is an over the back filter, a whisper 40. Tank just recently got cycled, all tests are perfect, is this new filter going to give me problems, with the loss of the old beneficial bacteria? thanks

If you have another tank use a bit of filter medium out of that to seed your filter, the bactera will spread to the new medium, it will speed things up.

Ether way keep an eye on the water stats (test regular), just be prepared to do lots of little water changes if your ammonia or nitrite start to rise.

I dont have another tank, but is the media from the old filter cosidered dead by now I did wash it out with tap water and its been out of water for about an hour, Is that still usable or no?

I would of said dead, but i could be wrong it depends on your water suply and whats added ie clorene or cloramide :-(

just keep an eye on your water, and be ready to do some water changes if it sours
