new filter, very noisy, please help

Hi,

Ive just bought a new internal filter. Its an interpet IPF duo sponge filter.

I am concerned about the noise it makes, are all filters meant to be noisy? I can hear the humming/droaning/vibrating type of noise in other rooms, even with all the doors to the rooms closed?

Is this normal? If not what can i do to fix the noise. Its really annoying and i wont be able to sleep in my room.

The manual doesnt give any details on stopping the noise, please help

It could be vibrateing against the galss. Look behind the filter and check it out.

That maybe it, check to make sure it is not touching glass!

Its not that because when i detached it from the holding unit and held it clear from the glass it still made the same droaning noise.

So are filters not meant to be noisy or do i have a bad one?
