New Filter Problems

ok everyone i have a question
yesterday i bought i second hand 100l tank, got it cheap
as i was visiting a small local fish store, i saw they had a filter on offer
superfish aqua-pro 400, know its over powered but i thought why not
was only £25 so i got it,
i've set everythin up with the new tank followed the instructions to the word with the filter and turned it on, it just seems to be sitting there gurrgleing away no water going anywhere, and its been nearly 2 hours.
anyone had one of these or know whats going on? is it faulty?

As long as you have both taps in the open position then it must be an air lock.

Try rolling the filter from side to side and top to bottom to try and get the air up the pipe.
