I got her because she was purple...

She lied. :sly:

She has some faint stress lines, but they're already almost unnoticeable since we left the store. I have her in front of my 5.5 gallon to tease my males. She was a lavender color in the store and it happens to be my favorite color. I was like, "OHHH!!! IMPUSLE BUY!" Now she's a deep blue.

Not to self: Don't always rely on colors when in store.

Do stress lines go away?

I'd keep an eye oh her, cus she might turn into a 'he'........I only say that as the anal fin is rather long and 'she' is still very young looking.

Beautiful betta :good:

Well, she has a visible ovipositor. It's a girl I'd say. You can even see it just barely in the photo.

I'm taking her to my boyfriends today. Hoping she gets along with my other female in a community tank. She may be left in her cup or small bowl for a while otherwise. So crossing my fingers she is a friendly one.

So she is a purple tone after all. Inside the 10 gallon she was purple too even with a flash. :)

Also wanted to share this image. It's a swarm of pretty fish in the 10 gallon fighting over a chunk of wafer:

And this photo of Strawberry. She looks so nice here. :D

I only have 2 bettas in the tank with a ton of guppies. The new one was a little stressed. Obviously. She was settling when I left though. Her and my first betta had a little show down. Nothing major. I think it was them deciding who was the top dog. Strawberry actually backed down or became uninterested. There are enough fish in the tank (12...I know...I know...too many in a 10 gallon, but they're migrating to a 37) that it keeps everyone distracted from arguing. Oh, and I have a single baby guppy swimming around in the plants. So excited!

Thanks! Was mad at first because she keeps changing colors, but I'm happy I got her now. :D Just crossing my fingers that she gets accustomed to the tank and other fish

She's moving to a new place so she is probably a little stressed so maybe that's why she was changing colors. My betta use to do that when I did a water change but now he's use to it and doesn't worry at all.

Well, she is apparently a beautiful lavender color naturally. Not blue and red. She will get a slight red to her bottom fins (I don't know the name of them, but they're the 2 bottom ones that are long on males) She has the stress lines too. I can tell she's still stressed in her new tank, but I think the lines may also just be more prominent on her. Obviously I don't have another to compare her to as my other female is white!

She's living with 6 guppies, 2 platies, 2 cories, and the other betta. Overstocked obviously as it is a 10 gallon, but if it helps the filter is for a 30 gallon tank. :shifty: So hard not to buy anymore fish right now too!!! My LFS got in panda, bandit, and skunk cories!!!

So yep. She's lavender with the stripes and seems to fit in well. She's still a bit spooked of the guppies because they never stop moving, but so was my first betta in the tank. And my first betta acts like a guppy just smarter. And it works out the tank is a bit overstocked and active because my females mostly ignore one another. Too much other stuff happening.

Stress lines will weaken as she gets older and colors up more. If you have your tank lights on, try turning them off, sometimes females get stressy with lights on. I know all my females get their lines when they light is on too long.

I have live plants in the tank so she's going to have to suck it up. :look:

But the light comes on in the morning and goes off late in the evening like all the other tanks so she has time to rest. I think she'll get used to it. I know it was a drastic change going from a cup to a 10 gallon tank with psychotic guppies. But she's acting the same as my other betta and within a few days my other was part of the crowd.

Thanks! I moved all the fish in the 10 gallon to a 37 with sand. It's awesome!

I now have 3 females. I bought a 3rd female who is reddish over the weekend. Will have to get some photos of her. As for "Tricksie" she's doing great. She's more independant than Strawberry who swims with the guppies. She tends to swim at the top of the tank. My newest one likes swimming in the plants. They're all so different!
