I bought 2 new females on Friday for my community tank as I'd lost one to dopsy and another turned out to be a male plakat so my numbers were down to 3. When I got them home and put them in the quarantine tank I noticed Ruby had a white spot on her head so started treating for ich.
Yesterday she started to clamp her fins badly and kept twitching and twice she jumped so much that she hit the lid of the tank
Saphire is acting perfectly normally and shows no signs of ich or the twitching.
Sunday morning I noticed that Ruby's tail had started to rot and also it seemed that a patch of grey film had progressed up the body also. She has eaten but does not look a happy betta. I have isolated her with water from the tank in a beanie box so she doesn't pass anything on to the other female. I've done a quick search on the net and can't quite decide what it is she's got.
So my questions are
1. Is it plain fin rot or is it something else?
2. She's being treated for ich and the second dose is due tomorrow so can I add another med?
3. Should I treat the other female for the second problem even though she shows no signs at all?
Your help would be very much appreciated![nod  ](/images/smilies/ipb/yes.gif)
Edited to post picture. Its very blurred but the best I could do
