Got some new tetras and its been an up and down just getting them here.
But I love them already!!
Theyve darkened up already by today (they arrived via mail yesterday)
I got the black variety of Nematobrycon palmeri, and the first day they looked more like the standard but darkened up over time and dang they look like they vanish into shadows with a glowing outline. But not pure black, very nice midnight blue and purple tones instead.
Got a male heavy group, however. 7 are males and 2 are females (smaller, green eyes, no tail fin extension)

Amazing!!! They're so lively! I just can't get over how they're not at all like the color of any emperor tetra pictures I've seen haha

Google black emperor tetras, theyre the black version of Nematobrycon palmeri

as of this evening, they've started spawning.

These guys are actively spawning still, the boys are definitely sassy. Some fights but its settled among themselves.

I cant get over the teeth on these guys
