New Eels

Hi all,

just picked these little guys up.
They were on sale as red tailed spiny eels.

i've never seen or heard of them before and wondered whether any of you had?
The LFS has just started getting some fish from a new supplier (think they said Thailand?)

i've kept most species of eels before so i know the usual care info but don't know anything about this species.

any info would be very much appreciated.

They're a species of Macrognathus, not sure which one. A little time on Fishbase might help. In any case, all the usual Macrognathus advice applies: keep in groups, keep the tank covered, don't put in tanks with gravel, don't mix with very small tankmates. sadly they are in the main tank now, but if i ever see them again i'll try and get some pics!
