I have placed an order with Bryan for

6 C. sp. Neon Green Lasers
6 C. duplicareus (with the red heads)
4 C. wild pandas to join my 5 breeders
4 C. melanotaenia to join my 3
and
15 Gold Cardinal Tetras

Of course they are all wild caught.

I am quite looking forward to the duplicareus. Very stunning fish. And also to the welcome homecoming parties that the tanks will throw for the new comers. :hyper: :bday: :band: :fish: :fish: :mama: :yahoo: :friends: :kana: :kana: :friends: :hyper:

Im sure you will be happy with them. I got some green lasers from him a while back and they are doing great.

I am considering puting them with the gossei and suessi and the larger pandas who are presently quite happly palling with the gossei and suessi. The pink fins on the gossei should make a nice contrast. Only the tank is a tall, and I understand the duplicareus like shallower tanks. I actually have a 50 usg with a lone and sad Burundi frontosa. I would like to rehome him and change the tank to a Cory tank.

Who is Bryan? Is wild caught better than tank raised/bred?
Is that where you have been getting all your corys?

An expensive order. And I still have to get the gossei and seussi and a few others to fill out some scant groups.

ICEEGRL: I think it would be generally agreed that for building breeding groups--more than just cute pets--well quarantined and conditioned wild caught and well bred species from reputable breeders are the stock to develop breeding groups from. With some species like pandas, they are entirely the healthier compared to most lps purchases. In addition it is quite hard to get some species that have been bred.

I get my fish from all sources depending on the fish and the purpose. For my community tank I get many from my lps and also from Aquabid and Drs. Fosters and Smith. I have some grossly expensive fish and tanks with all wild caught Africans.

Bryan is the source I sent you the address for. He is a member of TTF as CorysRUs. He is a huge importer of a variety of fish, but his real love is Cories and has always been an excellent source for healthy and quality Cories. He takes his vocation very seriously and has been a good source for me of info and contacts.

Congrats!! :drinks: :friends: :yahoo: I am so jealous of all the fish you are about to get!! They are in good hands :good:
Make sure to post the pics when you get em!

I am way behind in pic posting with full cards to unload and sort. :shout:  . But eventually I will spend a few days to catch up. Including doing a definative of my leucomelas devoted pair of very first Cories.

I did check out that site. They say that they have julies. I was going to get some until I looked at the prices with shipping.
I will have to get them another time.

I know what you mean. I spent all of this evening sorting pics. I got a little carried away. Now I can't decide which ones to post. That's how I end up with so many.

I hope you get some of your pics on here soon. I love your fish!

:good:

Yes it is expensive most often to get quality fish. After awhile it becomes acceptable. This package I will get from him will be $300 before shipping. My Africans were about a $1000, but one tank has 6 Moba Zaire Frontosa, wild caught and spectacular. There are also six wild multi Synos, 5" Clown Loaches, and 3 red fin LuBufu Compressecepts.

The cost of shipping of course has skyrocketted along with everything else because of oil prices.

When we are both ready I will see what we can do about getting you some long fin Cories--although it will be an experiment for me to ship fish.

Great. For now... work on those pics. I would love it if you could do a pic of each tank and what is in them. Then we could see them all.
:good:
