Hello All

Ive just recently got this fish

I was told it was a Giraffe Catfish or also known as Polker-dot Catfish

Ive had a look around various sites and I cant seen to find any pictures simular to help identify.

Looks like one of the synodontis species, probably synodontis petricola or s.multipunctatus.
I could be wrong though, several of the synos look the same to me.

Looking at the pictures I think its the first one you said (Synodontis petricola) :)
 
Quite common LFS's now, do well with others of the same species and needs a medium+ size tank :)

I wish they were common around here, they go great with mbuna. The cheapest I've ever found them is $30 a fish + shipping online. :crazy:
 
Either a petricola or lucipinnis, the white leading edges on the fins are distinctive from multipunctatus. Social fish, best kept in groups. They have been spawned in aquariums, a bit of searching will turn up anything else you might want to know.
