Hey,
I started up a tank around 6 months ago and now my gourami have died, over a period of a few months. All water stats are good and i read on here that quite a few people no longer keep them due to them not lasting very long.

My tank is 70l and now contains 4 glass catfish, 7 cardinal tetras, 1 bristlenose plec and 4 amano shrimp.

Any suggestions for some centre piece fish would be appreciated :)

I think you have a setup in which a pair of Rams would be very happy.

Not a Bigger fish but somewhere from which to start. Are you looking for loner, pair or group?

i agree a couple rams...gbr if your water is soft....or could got the bolivian route if its slightly harder

I haven't tested the water but I think its soft. No limescale in kettle and soap and shampoo bubbles up a lot lol

Rams it is then. What's the ratio? is it 2F to 1M like the gourami I had?
Any other fish that would look good do you think? :)

If you buy them from a breeder (either on these forums or locally) then they will be more sure to give you a sexed pair. LFS could be a little more hit and miss IMO.

To give you something else to look into...how about a Krib?

**I've never kept one, owned one, read much about them** so that could well turn into the worst suggestion in the history of TFF. In fact if it turns out that way i reserve the right to delete this post to save face

rams, either 1 or 2. they can go in groups but ur tank would be a little cramped for space with more than 2.

blue rams 28C or higher
bolivian rams 24-29C

water quality is especially important for blue rams
