new betta

everyone knows how i have talked about this orange betta at the mall. well im getting him tonight! i am gonna get some rocks after lunch to set his bowl up.m using a half gallon this is all i have . im trying to make a lid but the sarain wrap i cut out is too small! grrr im runing out of plastic wrap and it isnt workin ...any other ways to make a lid . everyone wants me to get a lid even though i dont have jumper problems . help.

If you are running out of plastic wrap, do you have packaging tape? If so, lay out sone strips, stuck together, then lay strips on top, so the sticky side sticks to the sticky side. then cut it in a circle a tad bigger than thehole of the bowl. Punch holes around the perimiter of the circle, and tape it onto the bowl. It is reuseale, just change tape that holds it town every so often. the food can be slipped through the holes. I have had success with this.

As far as making a lid goes.... can't you just put some heavy paper/carboard over it and cut some holes with a knife? It doesn't have to look pretty. If it's heavy enough you don't have to tape it down, either. Just set it on there. I had a guppy that liked to jump out of the plastic cup during water chnges. I just set a sheet of paper on top and he never got out after that.

I GOT HIM!!! he is so cute he is doomed "mister peaches" lol . he is breathing heavey since i just got him in his bowl.my mom said he is going to be in there for a week or two so we can get a aquaview . dont worry he isnt all jumpy so he doesnt need a lid yet. i cant make a lid anyway if anyone rejects this idea,please dont get all mad i have already got somebody mad since i cant get him a lid.

sorry to double post. he is very skittish poor guy he was in a loud mall and i saw a kid shake him. that store is famous for letting kids shake fish,poke birds til theu bite them and hit hamsters i hate it the poor little guy.though he may be skittish he loves kisses ..hes reminding me of flame ,flame is a little flirt
