My friend is moving to florida and he gave me his betta and other fish. I have his betta in a half gallon bowl ATM, I was going to divide my 10g but good thing I didn't. This new betta has what looks like fungus on his side and on top of his dorsal fin and tail. I did a large water change and added some aquarisol yesterday, anything else I should do that could help? If I divided the tank my fiest little betta , Boss, would have gotten it too. My old betta, (boss) had the same thing on his mouth and head, and he died soon after

i haven't used aquasiol that you used, but i would recommend some kind of fungas medicine if you have any, if not you could try adding aqarium salt and see if that'll help kill it.

Meanwhile, i think water changes will be your best bet :)

 good luck to you :)

yea i my brother had this on his betta,i believe its velvet i cured it with ich medication.

most likely fungas, if hte salt doens't work you can try those parasite/fungas medicine?

aquarium salt will help alot too to relieve some stress.

OOps you said that already

I'll try to find some more meds, I don't want him to die because one of the swordtails my friend gave me already died
