We've been looking for a blue fighting fish for quite a while now, and the lfs which is very good with looking after their fish had a couple in, but they didn't make it through their quarentine. We ordered another but none came in and they said it would probably be another 4 weeks before they got more, and then it wasn't garenteed!

So I rang up my local pet shop and they had quite a few in, so I went down to look. Now I've never been that impressed with their fish keeping, as you can regulary find dead fish in the tanks there, and on Friday the tank of Mollies had fungus. But thought I'd give them a chance and try a fish, as he was going in his own tank anyway, so wouldn't infect the main tank if there was problems. I had a good look in the tanks and looked for a nice healthy looking active fish. I choose the best one there, and he's settled into his new home ok.

However tonight I was having a look at him, and hes got whitespot! I'm so annoyed at their fish keeping skills! (We got him on Friday). I've put in some treatment tonight. Is it ok for him to have the full dose? It says half dose for sensitive fish, and I don't know if he counts as one, so I've only put half dose in tonight to be safe!

Also he hasn't really eaten since we got him, would this be due to whitespot as well? Or maybe just because he's in a new home? He seems happy in himself, swimming around a lot and he likes his plant!

Raise temp to 30, add the full dose betta are usually ok wih the full dose.
Increase aeration as the high temp and med will reduce 02 in the water.
Add some salt as well one tablespoon to 5gal but add it gradually not all at once.
If he's not eating could be stress to the move and the whitespot.
Try him on some shelled peas will give him a good clear out.
