Well I got tired of having bowls and bowls all over my house, so I moved went and bought some shelving :) Not all of my bettas fit so I may add a 3rd shelf, but then I may be tempted to buy more bettas :p

P.S. I am going to buy bamboo plants to put inside and behind the bowls, complete the look.

P.S. This pic makes them look crooked but they're level..lol

It looks nice with the tanks in one spot all together. Will look even better with the plants. Go ahead and buy the 3rd shelf and put fish decorations on it with the rest of your bettas to stop you from getting anymore.

Thanks, and I prob will break down and go w/ the 3rd shelf. I have these glass fish figures that I got off of ebay a while ago that I can put up there to keep my from getting more bettas ..lol

The shelving looks really cute, and all of your Bettas look great ;0)

Are you really using the Lee's betta hex? :look: How is that working for you? It looks ridiculously tiny as far as I've seen... just, tinsey.

My two glass bowls are really pretty and big but they distort the fish. I am forever peering in top to find them!

ps your shelves do look wonky. tee hee!

i think 1 or 2 of them looks to small might just be me tho.

You mean the bowls or the bettas look small? lol

Oh and the betta hex works great for my smaller bettas. I used to use it for 2 females but they've moved into a floating hatchery. Now it houses two of my DT Plakats which are small guys except for one who lives in the bowl to the left. I'm planning on getting those two bigger bowls once I add the 3rd shelf.

P.S. Thanks for the compliments ppl :)

Personally if I was you, i'd spend a bit of money if you are actually interested in your fish. I'd buy a nice decent size tank to put your females together, and depending on how many males you have, get a nice big tank and put dividers in to make them 1G each section, it would save space and it would also make them look alot neater! My personal opinion, I actually don't like them bowls, as they are all different types and it looks like a tank under construction, like I said if I was you i'd put them in nice tanks and divide the males...
You should base the tank size you want on betta per gallon... Say if you have 3 females, buy a 3gallon tanks, and if you have say 5 males, buy a 5.5gallon tank and divide it (take note the dividers will take up some rooms). These are just my ideas and opinions, and you most certainly do not have to take them seriously!

I am actually interested in my fish *sticks tounge out*. Anyway yeah I've thought of that, but think of if you split a 5 1/2 gallon tank into 5 sections using dividers that's not really much room (3 sections seems like an ok amount of room though) (bettas seem to like to move sideways as well as up and down), also the filter would not do that great of a job unless you put a filter in each section (thus taking up more space if it's a little bubble filter). Also imagine getting even a small gravel filter in between the dividers. You'd have to take them down to clean the tank. I like my bettas in bowls, and they seem to like it too. I clean the bowls every 4 days, it works for me and for them :) My oldest betta, Oscar has been living great in his bowl for 8 months now.

P.S. One more thing, imagine is one betta gets sick, then you potentially lose all 5 of them. Not worth the risk to me.

That's a good point, but if you are worried about the filter taking up room, put a trough in (so it goes to all the sections without a strong current, and you only need one filter) like I said it's only my opinion and I accept that you like bowls more, I was just expressing my point of view. :fun:
