new betta - Flame

Had to get my other daughter a betta too, and she wanted a red one. So I checked out all the lps/lfs and found this guy. She calls him Flame.
I thought he might be a crowntail, but after looking at pics of bettas, I don't think he is, but he is still gorgeous.
This first pic is blurry but shows his real colour

This is a pic taken with the flash, the blue isn't blue, he is all red.
He is not a crowntail is he ?
At least not like the gorgeous ones I have seen on this site!!

I don't think he's a crowny,he looks a bit nipped on the tail fins..

But I tell you that is one awesome betta! Great colors he has!

His tail should be like this. But it will slowly go into a point not right away, I just have it like that because there wasn't enough room to draw it properly. He's missing a good chunk of his tail. It will be beautiful when it grows back!

It's not a crowntail, but those fins are full-bodied which makes it pretty awesome!

Yer funny 55gallondude, er, dude!
I will watch for fin-rot, poor little guy, and here I thought the lps I got him from was doing wonderful things because their bettas were kept in community tanks not little cups.
And no, he doesn't look like that when he is normal, he was flaring at a mirror while I took pics. He has lots of personality and thats what I like!
