Hi

I have a juwel rio 125 high lite tank with 2x 28w t5s one day and one colour tube. Are Arcadia's J5 Plant Pro tubes made for juwel tanks a better tube for growing plants or is there little diffrence to juwels? the new J5's fit in the highlite ballast so that why im looking into them :good:

The Arcadia tubes are a different length to the Juwel tubes so unfortunately, no they will not fit the Juwel balasts. If you want to use any brand of tube other than Juwels, you will need a new lighting unit.

All the best

Although Arcadia are supposed to be making tubes for the Juwel units.

i never asked if they fit and for your information the J5 ones do ... not T5! there custom length by arcadia for juwel and I can get 2 now for my tank I was asking weather they would be a better bulb?

Have seen the bulbs on the net and knowing Arcadia, yes the bulbs should be better. I'm struggleing to come to a precise conclusion as to what the specs are for the bulb however I'm lead to believe that they are just like the Arcadia Freshwater bulbs. In which case, they are very good.
To be honest though, I've seen a wonderfully planted tank with the Juwel High Light bulbs, therefore I would give them a go before spending money on new bulbs just incase they are good enough. Otherwise that would a waste of money.

Sorry miss-understanding.

Arcadia are supposed to be the best make of bulb out there from my understanding. Did not know that they now make tubes to fit the juwel balasts now, so I am not aware of their exact specs. Would have thought from the companies reputation, that they would give better output towards the end of their lives. I presume they do different models, with different spectural outputs, and I am not realy formiliar with the range thus cannot realy further comment.
With plants though, I tend to mix the tubes, one specificaly for the plants and one that mimics daylight. The second tube boosts fish colours and should give a broader spectrum, that IME make things look better and encurages a little more plant growth from slower growers. If you use them, I'd look at combining two different tubes if there is more than one type

Sorry once again

I'm really interested in these to replace the Nature lamp thats comes with the Juwels. Has anybody installed on yet? Also they are a hell of a lot cheaper than Juwel Lamps!!!
