Hi, I need advice please! I have a new, tiny, baby apple snail only about a quarter of an inch big. I need a calcium source! I have put some lettuce in there for her but she really prefers the algae wafers I put in with her.

Any ideas for calcium for her? I know I could get supplements but just wondering if any other things are out there, besides crushed seashells (which I don't have) or crushed egg shells.

Thanks!

Hi,

I use kent marine liquid calcium for my snails, they also like cucumber and blanched broccoli and cabbage. Some people use a piece of cuttlefish bone the kind you buy for birds but i found i started to smell revolting after a couple of weeks in the tank. My snails also eat algae wafers, catfish pellets and snail pellets.
