Just got a mala/maula anemone?

Put it in the tank i no it will go the place it likes best! but is there any way of stopping it going behind the rock so i cant see it?

would it go behind rock to die? or that what it likes best?

just making sure everythink is ok with it :good: dont wana start off crashing my tank again

As long as the color is OK and it's mouth is not gaping open, it's probably OK. Sadly there's no way to get it to go where you want it, they have a mind of their own ;) It's best to let it pick a spot and wait a month or two before trying to move it. Don't watn to overstress it

Thanks ski, the color is ok :p but iv seen the mouth right in the middle  its huge !!! i cant always see it tho ?

Heteractis malu like to bury themselves in the substrate. You can sometimes put them in an icecream bucket full of sand or fine shell. Then put the anemone on this. They will bury their base in the sand and stay put. Then you can put the bucket wherever you want.
If there is too much current the anemone will look for a more protected site. Sometimes you can aim a water pump near the anemone and encourage it to move somewhere else. Don't aim the water directly at the anemone tho because the current can damage it.
The mouth will be open sometimes but should be closed most of the time.

To prevent the glare from the flash on the glass, have the camera on a slight angle to the tank. Either point it downwards a bit or angle it to one side. That way the flash will bounce away from the camera :)

Lol, the wires make it look like my tank :)

good luck w/your nem. let us know how it turns out. Did you take any special precautions before you got it? I'd like one someday...but am afraid it will nuke my tank  I've also heard about them getting sucked into power heads and such.

the clown also seems abit confusd'd if you ask me?

shud i turn it round leave it or what?

Check the water quality and make sure it is perfect. Anemones usually attach themselves to something within a few hours if the tank is good. It shouldn't be rolling around and the tentacles are shrivelled.
Definitely turn it over and leave it on the sand where it is. It might bury itself there and that looks like a good spot for it.

Your leather coral doesn't look happy either. It is very pale and the polyps aren't out. How much light do you have on the tank and how long is it on for?

waster condictions wer all down part from nitrate was about 10-20? the leather has been like that for over 2months i think it died when i lost all my other corals???

polyps also been in my nano tank recovering that come out now and then :S

see iv also put my torch coral from my nano tank to my main tank as it got really big in my nano tank but hasnt come out in my big tank :( the only one doing good is my red tree coral :S

please some help me befor disaters strikes?!
