Yay, i got a new fishy today. Needed something to replace my common plec who got to big for my small tank so decided on an albino BN. He's a pretty cool little guy !!

not a bad choice. they can grow up to 15 cm and make more poop than an elephant but its the bristles that wins me over!

Re, the poop, Tell me bout it, i got him home from the shop and his bag was full of it !!! lol But he's cool !!

lol - i suggest an army of shrimp next to clean up after him :)

They are very active and look really cool lost mine recently but they are stunning and very active

only the males get bristles the females sometimes get a few around the lip tho

i have a trio of bns 2albino female one male normal

then i have my longfin male i a diff tank

I bought a little 3.8 cm long Albino BN at a lfs for less than what I'd pay for a good cup of coffee! He's now 5.1 cm and growing. I like the fact that not only does he keep the tank free from algae, he also picks up the stray food flake that makes it to the bottom.

I think some people also use them for those fish pedicures, poor fish. It can't be good for them?

He's pretty. I think mine may be female as it looks the same size as yours, but no bristles. I just got him today to, just as you say, replace the common that got to big and was rehomed lol.
