Well, there i was, in pets at home, deciding just what the heck to put in the 3g tank id setup and started cycling. spent half an hour wandering back and forth looking at the tanks. i was hoping for a nice betta, but all they had were 2 very very shabby red vieltails, who looked like they had ich. So, i find myself having a staring contest with an albino clawed frog.

Then i saw it. a quick flash of black at the back of the tank.

Ive never looked more stupid, face pressed up against the tank moving back and forwards. they i spotted him/her. right at the back of the tank, in the corner, and adf! i jumped at the chance for him. i called the girl over and she spent 10mins fishing him out. I felt so bad!

I thought id best get him some tank mates, so i decided to go for the last 2 'freshwater shrimp' (i think they are amano shrimp). she got the first one no problem, as it didnt move much (i later noticed he was really ill, lost him within hours of getting him back :() The second was more lively, and, seeing the net, dived under the bogwood in the tank. So, the girl moved it, and then i spotted him/her! Another tiny little ADF! this one took another 10mins to catch!

The staff were at a loss where they had come from, because they havnt stocked ADF's for 'a long time'. these look very small, so i doubt they have been there long. 2 seperate tanks. im also at a loss to explain them, but im not complaining.

Got them home, and as soon as they were in their tank they were away, happy to be in clean water. they are brilliant little characters. They are feeding well, having each scoffed down 2 meals each (one of brine shrimp, the other bloodworm)

They are naturals to the syringe. i have added a length of tubing to it so i dont have to get my hands wet, and they were a bit scared of them. Both seem to instinctivly know plastic tube=food, as they both stick there heads right in as soon as its near them, or try to stick there hands up and grab the food!

Im one very happy froggy keeper! :D

Aww!!!! Sounds like they are cute little buggers. I love ADFs! I used to keep a betta with mine, but this time they won me over to where they have a tank of their own! :)

good luck with yours!!!
