I think that the "wood" in the tank is a resin replica of a mangrove root. I have one in my tank, they look pretty cool.

I think it looks very nice, I love the black wood stand and hood covering.
I have that exact same stand, except in 55G standards.
The hood covering was an extra $99, so i didn't bother.

Yes they are ceramic roots from petsmart. The Tank is 4ft by 18in by 2ft high,
