New 55gallon Advise Needed

All i have is the tank and the cabinet.... WHat do you guys think i should go for in both the fish and the gear....
1. Advice on base,filteration,coral and what ever else i need..
2.Fish which is good start and what should i go for?

i suggest you read some of the pinned topics. I'd use sand, LR, whatever corals you want (make sure you get the lighting to support them) and browse through Liveaquaria.com for different types of fish that intrigue you...

I like clown fish,yellow tang,Kaudern's Cardinal,flame angel and i wouldn't mind having a lion fish
What do you guys suggest abd have to advise me on those?

I want to buy things in one by one due to low budget I have the cabinet and tank only...
What should i buy first and what should follow on??? any ideas would be great.... Maybe filter first???or skimmer if i need one

you could get a dwarf lion. i got my 120g tank for the purpose of getting volitans, and at 18" wide i felt it was too narrow since they can get 15" long and 18" wide from spine tip to tip. You also won't be able to keep a yellow tang in the tank. Tangs need lots of straight line swimming otherwise they will get ich and crash the tank. The other fish sound alright, i have gold striped maroon clowns, flame angel, pajama cardinals and they get along great with eachother....well my female clown chases off the flame angel once in a while,but usually the Niger trigger keeps everyone in check.

I hardly ever use my skimmer, once or twice a week for an hour or so. so it's really up to you what you wanna do. Also, filters are up to you. i really only use mine for flow (oh yeah, you're gonna wanna buy powerheads as well). The main filtration you're going to wanna use will be Live Rock with some Live Sand if you choose.

3.36kg rock $170au...

4.30kg sand $75au

5.Salk 8kg $60au

Are these good prices??? am i missing anything??? is that canister filter going to do the job in my 4foot tank?
