So I sold all of my fish tanks awhile back after my Oscar had died for an unknown reason. The water params were near perfect and there were no external signs of disease or sickness, he was not attacked or anything. His only tankmate was a parrot fish who always tried mating with him.

Anyways, after he died (he was about 4 years old) I sold all of my fish tanks two 55 gallons and a 125 gallon.

I have recently been looking for a new fish tank something around 100+ gallons and I looked for awhile and everything seemed way expensive! Until last weekend I saw my neighbor putting a large fish tank out in his driveway for sale. $150 for everything.

I paid him $50 there and then the rest this past weekend. Now I have it in my room and have been slowly getting things going. So far all I have put in is sand and am waiting for everything to settle and get a little more clear. :good:

I am definitely stocking it with an oscar for sure. Not sure on what else I am going to stock it with but I am sure I will get a better idea once it is done cycling.

Oh and why not put a few pictures of my betta here too!

The water is a little cloudy because I just changed his substrate to sand as well.

Thanks. Not sure if I will get two oscars or just keep it to one and another peaceful similar sized cichlid. I would love to do live plants but I know my Oscar would dig them up and move them around.

yea, thats just me...i've just always wanted oscars, but my rents will only let me keep a 55, not big enough for one

a planted would be nice, but too much hassle

yeah. but I love planted tanks. I may put some larger ones in the corners or front of the tank and see how that works out or something. haha.

Yeah I would love that tank, I could never get it in my room. Man $150 for all that, that's a deal in a half. GL with you new tank ^_^

Yeah I was so surprised when I asked him how much and he said $150. He even gave me a bunch of rocks and marine sand but I threw it out since I didn't need it. He gave me a bunch of extra saltwater light bulbs as well as a very expensive looking saltwater hood with day and night lights. And he put it in his truck an delivered it to my house as well.

I can't wait for it to be cycled and be a new home to a cute baby oscar.

Oh and my room is like the garage of the house sort of, just turned into a room so it's verrrry big. Fish on one side, ferrets on the other.

Hey there Raechal! Awesome deal on the tank, congrats. Happy to see you're doing right by it with large fish :p Have fun.

thats an awsome deal! i wish my neighbours were that generous lol
good luck with the cycling and stocking :good:
i think a few clown loaches would look pretty sweet in there for the bottom! or a synodontis cat.
some silver dollars for the mid level?
i dunno, im pants with big fish :hyper:

pink.

Tank looks good raechal, :good:
just got my own 125G up and running myself

aw thanks! :D

I am so excited to have another tank, especially one so large.

I don't think I could see myself keeping any other fish besides an oscar or a betta.

I really love them both.

I wish bettas were larger. Like an oscar sized betta. ha.

Epic tank!
Awesome deal!
what more can you ask for! lmao
i got my 30 gallon for $129, so clearly you got that for a steal! aha
can't wait to see it when it's finished !
