Never Annoy You Domestic Helper

A domestic helper was charged under section 428 of the Penal Code (Mischief by killing an animal) on 21 June 2011 and ordered to pay $7,000 fine for killing her employer's fish on May 24th 2011. A one month's jail term (after which she will be repatriated) will be served, as she was unable to pay the fine.

SPCA's two Inspectors attended the case immediately, on receiving the report from the owner. On arrival at the scene, they observed all the 29 fishes floating at the top of the tank. The helper according to the owner, had admitted to the police that she had poured half a bottle of Chlorox into the tank. Evidence was gathered and she was taken away by police, accompanied by her agent.

"Mischief by killing or maiming any animal
428. Whoever commits mischief by killing, poisoning, maiming or rendering useless, any animal shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 5 years, or with fine, or with both."

I would love to know what the owner done to annoy the person that much.
I think the police would be the last thing on my mind, I'd be dealing out my own justice.

Why do this though? why not just steal, or smash some vases up or something? Not that i condone either of those of course

I guess she could've poisoned the family instead. But I share your confusion. I could never understand behavior like this.

It's sick But unfortunately, many people don't see fish as they see other animals; I bet whoever did this wouldn't dream of poisoning a dog or cat if their employer had one, but didn't give the fish a second thought. Very sad.

i sometimes think how easy it would be for my wife to do something like this to me when I make her very angry. but i know shes too much of a bleeding heart to actually do it. Tho she has threatened to smash the tanks.... i love my wife so much!

I don;t get that either. I'd never threaten to smash up my hubby's motorbike. I might hide his keys, but I'd never actually damage it...

Haha, I don't need to smash his bike up - he does a good enough job of that alllll by himself!

And no, he has significantly less hair and less belly. He also doesn't ride a harley
