Ive read the FAQ about putting fry into the hang-over nets, but, I personally never raised them to the size that they are mostly safe from the parents in the tank, has anyone has success over this? It would make it easier so I dont have to use another tank to raise them in.

P.S. - Feels good to be back on the forum :good:

You can raise about 8-10 fry in a breeding net and they on't be fine there until they are large enough so they don't fit into the adult mouths. More than that and they will be crammed a bit too tight for their own comfort in the net before they're large enough.

i use breeding nets all the time with fry, good way to keep them alive from the parents.i keep them in there till just over 2 months, then usally they are big enough to escape being eaten.
i only keep about 8-10 fry in one, but i will always use another if nessary.

Ive started using newts. Ive got 7 guppy fry in there at the moment. I had 13-15 in a breedint rap at oen time and im left with 3 very healthy, big fry that are about the 1/3 of their mommys size(who is fully grown)
