in my pic thread i have re done my 15 gallon i had 2 fancy tailed goldies in there and i know it was too small for them so i bought a 40 gallon pop up pop for them. i have just acclimatised the to the pond and put them in. i am so nervous for them being out side now and not indoors. :(

i am prob gonna wake up so early to go check on them. will be so so gutted and upset if they dont last their first night in it

aww its ok *hugs* we all hey nervous sometimes :) i will never forget that day i let my prize koi go in my BF uncles pond i was so worried i stayed the night :p it will be ok... how big is it? got any pictures?

its a forty gallon pop up pond. had been debating since i ordered it if my fancy tails were going in and tonight i bit the bullet. they have 20 gallons each so should be comfy.

Thanks i have been out 4 times allready to check up on them. gonna go to the LFS tommorrow and buy them some plants

ill get some pics tomorrow. its abit like an out door tank. has a filter / pump. a generous layer of gravel and a stone ornament in the middle. i have ordered some plants that float to provide them with a bit of shade and will buy some plants tomorrow

I'm sure they will be ok, the danger of frost should have passed by now for you.
keep testing the water though as the filter will need to cycle if you havent already added any old filter media. :)

i bottled it. i went out at 4 in the morning and moved the goldies back inside to a decent home, they will be going ito my newly set up tank tonight (cycled using a fiter from a mature tank and gravel too)

awww you poor thing! its ok though i understand how you feel!
they are so happy back in their re decorated tank now. so i am happy that they are happy.

i think the reason they werent to happy in the pond is even though they are cold water they have been in a tank indoors that is 65-75 f (no heater) so they got used to that and going into 50-60f water even though they were slowly acclimatised was a shock

i went to the LFS and bought some normal goldfish that will do fine in the pond and they seem to love their new home.

I too understand why you brought them back in and congrats on the new fish :)
