i read that Nerite snails don't reproduce in a regular freshwater tanks. There are tiny white - pin point tiny-specks on my sponge filters. I read that those are Nerite snail eggs. A few days ago there were tiny brown specks that are moving.
If these are Nerite snails, I don't want to remove bladder snails in case they are the preferred species- Nerite.
Any thoughts?

AFAIK nerite only breed in brackish water. I do see small white eggs plants on usually rock or wood but those are bladder snail eggs, at least in my tanks, I'm pretty sure. I don't think I've ever seen them on the sponge filters though.

Thanks- i'll try to show a picture of the sponge filter. Next to one of the white specks is a tiny brown speck🤷‍♀️ bladder snail eggs are on the glass in a little circle of clear gooey stuff 🤮

I get nerite eggs everywhere - tank walls, decor, filter bracket, even on the heater. The eggs need brackish water to hatch, and they hatch to larvae rather than baby snails.

I oh- okay thanks. It's really hard to get snail eggs off a sponge filter-🙄

You need to get used to them :D I have hundreds in my Aquarium..

I've been looking into nerites as a possible treatment for algae in my 2 tiny tanks (by a window). I read that they only reproduce in salt water but I see that finfayce's is indeed salt? Just making sure.

Yeah i know. But i might be over feeding my shrimp. I read 7 pieces per shrimp.
The size of their food is like a pin point. I'd probably need a magnifying glass. 🙄

Dipping the actual tip of a wet pin into the food, then the tank, might provide an appropriate portion.

Yeah I know.
