Neons got Ich.

darn..i will never go to petsmart again brought 10 neons fro my 10 gallon and after a week they all had ick i dunno how to cure them? medicine for whole tank?

This might sound weird kevin, but your post brightened me up from whats going on in the forum now. I just missed seeing the typical fish question that makes this forum work.


As answer to your question, if they all have ick, it is probably a tank problem. All ten dying makes it more definate. I suppose adding salt and medication will help.

yay wut a quick reply but first only 2 had ick and i thougth it was their fin thing they born with that then it spread to all of em should add raise the tmperature too?

Ah! Finally seeing a fish related question, yay!

Well, I would doubt the neons' salt tolerance level (correct me if I'm wrong). U could try medication that treats ick, but I think u'll have to half the dosage if they have a low salt tolerance level (because they are scaleless?)

And yeah u'll have to treat the whole tank I'm afraid...

Raise the temp yes, add salt, keep the water params real good and they should be able to fight it off without the use of meds. HTH and good luck
