the tank aso has a few rocks and a fake tree.
???
THANKS

How many gallons are we talking and what filtration does it have. Also, I presume it has a heater.
How long has the tank been set up and was it cycled?

Im in australia so i dont realy need a heater and the tank has benn set up for one day how large is a gal ??

Neons are very sensitive fish and will probably die on you I am afraid. One day is not nearly enough to set up a tank for any fish. I would advise you to return all your fish to the lfs and then read up on fishless cycling.

If you leave these fish in they will have to cope with very high ammonia levels as they will be no bacteria present yet. Bacteria are needed to break the ammonia down into less harmful forms (nitrites and then again to nitrates) You need to get a test kit and don't add fish until ammonia and nitrite levels have spiked and then returned to zero.

I am guessing you tank is small and therefore (so long as it is a gallon or more) I would recommend just one male betta.

i may just give some of the fish to my freind he has a heater and a larger tank (not sure how big)

ok, a 30x30x25 cm tank is about 22.5 L or ~6 gallons. That is definately too small for your fish. :( Sorry. All that will really fit into your tank is a betta or a dwarf puffer (assuming your measurements are correct).

If you do decide to get the puffer, you need to look into cycling your tank. Basically, cycling is developing the good bacteria that break down the fish's waste. Bettas are fin in an uncycled tank with weekly water changes.

Are you using dechlorinator in your tank water?

Bettas are really lovely fish, I would definitely just get one of these and give all your fish to your friend.
