I have a Neon Tetra in the tank (well, 10, but nine seem in excellent health).

This one, when he stops swimming, starts to rise to the surface...........so he is continually swimming down.

Aside from that he looks fine..............

Any thoughts............

(p.s........it is 23:20 and we have no cooked peas in the house)...

That could indicate just about anything, though a lack of oxygen in the water is one cause that springs to mind.

Are their any signs on the body, or are the gills red/inflamed/only one working?

Any information you can give would help nail the cause...

Does he do this all the time or is it only after feeding as a few of mine were doing that and I was advised to wet their food first as they were gulping air with it, making it difficult to swim and now they all seem fine, its the others I am having problems with :)

Sorry for not replying earlier......with the recent poor weather, our BT line as been playing up, and we have failed to get an internet connection for over a week....... :( :(

Thanks for your replies....SuEleanor had it I believe........we are being very careful not to overfeed the fish, and I think the greedy monster had gulped down some air with his food............

All fine now...... :D :D
