I was just wondering if guppies get along with the Neon Tetra. I have 1 Male Guppy and 3 Female Guppies and 3 Neon Tetra. Is that the problem or could it be something else?

It is odd that any of those fish would lop the tail off the neon. Are you sure it was there when you got the fish? Is the tail ragged or clean cut? Is there any coloration where the damages is? Keep us posted. :)

I know it was there when I got them, the tail is clear, no coloration. There doesn't seem to be any damage. I'll keep watching and see maybe I am just too paranoid about the whole thing.

Since you know so much about fish, should I keep the light on in the fish tank or would it be okay if I turn it off. Whenever I turn it off, the fish go crazy.

THe light in most anks is just there for one of two purposes. First to simulate night and day. If the tank is in a dark room(no or little light) then have the light on for about 8 hours a day. If it is in a room with natural lighting then you anly need the aquarium light on if you want to see the fish when it is dark. In adark room turn a room light on first then a couple of minutes later turn the aquarium light on this will reduce stress on the fish. Also when turning it off make sure the room light is on when you turn off the tank. Second for plant growth. If you have plants you should have the lights on 10-12 hours a day even in a room with natural light. HTH :)
