Neon Tetra- Strange Mouth

Hi i've just noticed one of my neon has developed a strange deformity. It looks a bit like a piece of food stuck in its mouth. Not quite sure what to do?

It's been there at least a day though!

Try and catch him with a net sometimes that makes them release there food.
The only other thing to do though how you do this on such a small fish god only knows.
You get a clean cloth and wet it in tank water, wrap the fish in the cloth,steralise some tweezers before you get the fish out of the tank,
remove the object with the tweezers.

i agree with wilder this is the best way of removing anything , and just be careful not to feed things which are to large for fish to eat as they can die from not been able to swallow the food and get it stuck

ok well i've attempted to do this. It seems it wasn't food, rather something attached to it's mouth as it were.

I've tried to remove it though without causing any further injury, which i seem to have taken off a good amount and it's now eating properly... just has a small deformation on its mouth.

When you say it wasnt food, it was fluffy stuff on the mouth as that can be flexibactor columnaris, false name mouth fungus.

No. i'd describe it as (this is gonna sound gross) when a person gets a yellow head spot, it was like the head on a spot but white?

well he's still alive! The swelling has gone down, has a weird shaped mouth now though ... but is still managing to eat fine!

The mouth dosn't look like its rotting away.
