how long do neon tetras live for?? ive got eight and i love them! hopefuly more than a year? i feed them the healthiest foods and give them good water.

I think their maximum is about 6 years, but if they live up to that is up to you, their surroundings and other fish.

For instance, my neon tetras have been living in my tank for 3.5 years and Ive had one die since I got them.

Just keep up water changes, feeding well and keep them happy and they should be ok
